Why was I sent to Earth? (purpose of life)

Why was I sent to Earth? (purpose of life)

Verily all praise is for Allah, we praise Him and seek His aid and ask for His forgiveness and we seek refuge with Allah from the evils of ourselves and our evil actions. Whomever Allah guides there is none who can misguide him, and whomever Allah misguides there is none who can guide him, and I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped except Allah alone, having no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger
(this is how Prophet SAW used to start his speech Nisai 3278)

My Lord, open up my heart [with assurance] And ease for me my task And untie the knot from my tongue That they may understand my speech. Ameen

Why was I sent to Earth? that's a question which people normally asks what is the purpose of this life? As we all know it is written in all the Holy Books and scriptures that Allah/God created Adam (A.S), the first human and his spouse and our mother Hawa (A.S) and sent them to Paradise and you know the whole story how they were tested and then sent to Earth. The whole purpose was to let them see that there is a huge prize waiting for you IF you live your life according to Allah's Will.

If you ask a Muslim, what is the purpose of our life? He will say, it is to worship Allah.

I created the jinn and mankind only so that they might worship Me [Adh-Dhariyat 51:56]

Yes, that's right but all the other beings in the universe were already worshipping Him and better than us Humans or Jinns (as both of us have free will so we have the power to disobey Him too but other beings can't)

do you not see that all those who are in the heavens and on earth praise God, as do the birds with wings outstretched? Each knows his own mode of prayer and glorification: God has full knowledge of all that they do. [An Nur 24:41]

One thing to keep in mind is that our worshipping Allah does not benefit Him in anyway or if all the beings in the universe starts to disobey Him, He doesn't care

....O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as pious as the most pious heart of any one man of you, that would not increase My dominion in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as wicked as the most wicked heart of any one man of you, that would not decrease My dominion in anything.....

Aside from all the other beings Allah gave only two of his creation free will those are; Jinns and Humans. So if Jinns were also already there to worship Allah why did He created Humans.

Humans have a higher rank than Jinns as mentioned in this verse of Quran

When your Lord said to the angels, ‘Indeed I am going to set a viceroy on the earth,’ .... [Al Baqarah 2:30]

The word used for viceroy is "Khalifa", so with great powers comes great responsibilities. What are our responsibilities as a viceroy of Allah?

And let there be from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful. [Aal i Imran 3:104]

People use this verse to justify the molvi profession, they say that Allah says that there should be one group among you who do this, it is not obligatory on all of us.

1) Okay, for a second if we believe in this statement then, what is written at the end of this verse "those will be successful". It means to be successful one has to do these things. So only molvis will be successful 😄?!

2) The word used for nation in Arabic is Umah, so it doesn't point towards the Molvis first of all it points toward the umah as in all the Jews, Christian and Muslims, second of all ain't molvis apart of this umah or nation?!

I am against this Molvi profession because Allah has made it obligatory on everyone to do these things. How? because

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient. [Aal i Imran 3:110]

We are the best nation meaning nation of Muhammad(the followers of Muhammad SAW), but that title is for those who do these two things enjoin what is right, the word used is "Maaroof" meaning well known it includes all those things which are right universally like telling the truth, respecting elders, charity, chastity etc. It also includes other right things as well and forbid what is wrong. These are the two duties which every human have to do to be successful at the end, to go back to the same prize for which we were created for, Paradise.

We have made you a moderate nation so that you could be a witness for all people and the Prophet a witness for you.... [Al-Baqara 2:143]

The Prophet Muhammad S.A.W was the last prophet, that duty to enjoin what is right and forbid from doing wrong is now ours, every single one of us, and if we won't do it Prophet will be a witness against us and if we do it he will be a witness for us. (a side note the people who say that Prophet is Hazir Nazir they say that Quran says that Prophet is a "witness" in many of the verses and a person can only be a witness if he is present... so I ask then according to this verse  Allah is saying "so that you could be a witness for all people"   does that mean all humans are hazir nazir according to the rule which they use 😅 any ways I will write a seperate article on this too InShaaAllah)

The word used in the above verse for moderate nation is "Umatan wasata" one of it's meaning is a balance nation, balance between spirituality and worldly life, we are not to become like those who left this wordly life and went to live in woods, mentioned in Al Hadid verse 27, NO NO. We are a balance nation.

Now some questions arises, to enjoin what is right and forbid from evil one must have knowledge about it so 1) How much knowledge is required before one can fulfill this duty of his/her?

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Convey (my teachings) to the people even if it were a single sentence, and tell others the stories of Bani Israel (which have been taught to you), for it is not sinful to do so. And whoever tells a lie on me intentionally, will surely take his place in the (Hell) Fire." [Sahih al-Bukhari 3461]

So if a person knows even a single verse then it is his duty to convey it but nicely not to bombard the other person with verses of Quran and Ahadith. One should try to convey it in such a way that the other would understand it or if he is doing something wrong one should warn him but don't start giving fatwas and if someone asks of you a matter and you don't tell him then
Narrated Abu Hurairah:
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever is asked about some knowledge that he knows, then he conceals it, he will be bridled with bridle of fire." [Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2649]
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.[An Nahl 16:125]

And to remember one more thing you are not to force anyone to do what is right or forbid from evil. You are only to tell them, to convey it to them, not to force them on gun point. Even the Prophets were not told to force people to accept Islam. You can debate with people but in a rightful manner if it is fruitful.

And we are not responsible except for clear notification." [Yasin 36:17]

We sent Our Messengers with clear evidence (to support their truthfulness), and sent with them the Book and the Balance so that people would maintain justice. We sent down iron - in which there is strong power and benefit for the people - so that God would know who would help Him and His Messenger without seeing the unseen. God is All-powerful and Majestic. [Al Hadid 57:25]

Allah says he has sent all the tools required The Messengers, The Book and the Balance. These are the tools, tools for what?, so that people would maintain JUSTICE. That's the whole purpose and then later on in the verse it is mentioned that "We sent down iron" iron to straighten up those people who are bullies, who wants to fight, who are mischievous who wants to disturb the peace for them the state have to use force.

This topic is one of my favourites I can talk on it even more but let's end it here.

It is narrated on the authority of Tariq b. Shihab:
It was Marwan (governor) who initiated (the practice) of delivering khutbah (address) before the prayer on the 'Id day. A man stood up and said: Prayer should precede khutbah. He (Marwan) remarked, This (practice) has been done away with. Upon this Abu Sa'id remarked: This man (who stood up) has performed (his duty) laid on him. I heard the Messenger of Allah as saying: He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue, and if he has not strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart, and that is the least of faith

It is said to modify it with the help of his hand meaning by force but that should be the case only if you have authority over your subjects (e.g. father in household, ruler of the state, boss in your office etc but their obedience is only when they are aligned with Allah otherwise not Muslim 4765/1840). It is not like one day a person comes out of his house with a baseball bat that I will destroy all the music decks of people 😅 that's not what this Hadith means the other two may apply you could tell the person listening to music on deck in a beautiful manner. The most disturbing thing is that if you don't feel bad about it even in your heart then it means you don't have any Iman/Faith.

One thing to keep in mind, your success does not depend on whether you were able to make such a society or such an Islamic government that practice JUSTICE, PEACE and where laws are made according to the commandments of Allah. He will only look at your struggle and award you accordingly and it is a slow process you can look at the example of Prophet S.A.W 13 years in Makkah, only preaching no retaliation. He first retaliated when an Islamic State was developed in Madinah in the form of Battle of Badr before that no one was allowed to retaliate no extra Judicial activity was to be performed like most Muslims do these days.

Just remember this verse and read Surah Asr

Do people think they will not be tested because they say, "We have faith?" [Ankabut 29:2]

Always remember this life is a test phase and the result is announced when one dies

After such long struggle of Prophet SAW, the whole system that was setup crumbled within 50 years of his demise, his grandson and his family was slaughtered. If you are interested in knowing what caused this then read this. In the end this doesn't mean that he failed Naozobillah.

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - (2) [Al-Mulk 67-2]

Anyways it is a long topic I tried to summarize it. Do give your feedback positive or negative. Do point out my mistakes.

O Allah! Enable us to see the Truth as Truth and give us the ability to follow it. And show us the falsehood as false and give us the ability to refrain from it. Ameen
