What is the standard of being a cool teenager? Part 1

Cool kids, Standard of being cool kid

What is the standard of being a cool teenager?

Bismillah hir Rahman Nir Raheem

My Lord, expand for me my chest [with assurance] And ease for me my task And untie the knot from my tongue That they may understand my speech. Ameen

What is the standard of being cool among the teenagers or university students? Boys who use at least two to three bad words in their sentence are considered cool. It might be a standard of west but for us Muslims it's not cool. Young boys think saying bad words without any reason makes them bad-ass and their friends sometimes encourage them by laughing on their bad words.

Some liberal minded people might say that girls like badass boys either as a joke or as a serious argument 😒. So you want such a girl who likes such bad humour or has a sick mind 😑.

I am a bit of a shy person so whenever I used to talk to someone and he starts cursing or saying bad words I used to ask him to censor your conversation first then talk with me brother. There are students whose humour is only based on bad or dirty jokes and whenever such a person is asked to stop making such jokes they say don't be such a molvi have some fun. There are other ways of having fun you know!, there is also a cleaner version of humour which doesn't involve any vulgarity, dirtiness or involves someone being getting insulted. Some people have wicked brains they like these type of humour and some don't. The thing is, it is not a matter of liking or disliking such humour, for us Muslims it is about whether we are doing good deed or just wasting time and cumulating bad deeds and keeping the angel on the left side real busy.

The honourable recorders.(11) Knowing all what you may do.(12)
[Al Infitar 82:11-12]

'Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said:
"The believer does not insult the honor of others, nor curse, nor commit Fahishah, nor is he foul."
 Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1977 Hasan (Darussalam)

Those who say come on enjoy your life a little. One can enjoy in other ways too without burdening his records. Allah says in Quran

And then the Record of their deeds shall be placed before them and you will see the guilty full of fear for what it contains, and will say: "Woe to us! What a Record this is! It leaves nothing, big or small, but encompasses it." They will find their deeds confronting them. Your Lord wrongs no one [Al Kahf 18:49]

Then there are some people who love to tell their sins to other people shamelessly and they consider this act of theirs as manly. Those who love to spread indecency and vulgarity openly and encourages their friends, first of all I would advise you to not make these kind of friends. If you already have such friends try to change them, discourage their such behaviour, even then if they don't stop then leave them if you think that you might become like them otherwise try your level best to change them as it is one of your duty. Allah says in Quran

You are now the best people brought forth for (the guidance and reform of) mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong...
[Ale Imran 3:110]

As for those, who like that indecency should spread among the Believers, they deserve a painful punishment in this world and in the Hereafter, for Allah knows and you do not know (its consequences). [An Noor 24:19]

Turn back before it's too late, on the Day of Judgement we don't want to be one of these guys mentioned in the Ayah below.
O, woe to me! Would that I had not chosen so and so for a friend!
[Al Furqan 25:29]

I always advise my friends to keep their sins a secret, If one has committed a sin don't make someone else a witness of it rather ask Allah for forgiveness.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying. "All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirin (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people). An example of such disclosure is that a person commits a sin at night and though Allah screens it from the public, then he comes in the morning, and says, 'O so-and-so, I did such-and-such (evil) deed yesterday,' though he spent his night screened by his Lord (none knowing about his sin) and in the morning he removes Allah's screen from himself."

Sahih al-Bukhari 6069

Now I understand the meaning of this Ayah of Quran. Allah says that it will be a gift for the people of Paradise that they

In which they shall neither hear lewd talk, nor any lie.
[An Naba 78:35]

Avoid such friends whose topic of conversation involves backbiting and gossips. Normally we like conversations that are spicy, that have hot topics of who did what, otherwise if you minus these topics from your conversation, you might become an introvert 😅. Allah says

O People who Believe! Men must not ridicule other men for it could be that the ridiculed are better than the mockers, nor must the women ridicule other women for the ridiculed women may be better than the mockers; and do not insult one another, nor assign evil nicknamesHow terrible is the defamation after having true faith.  And whoever does not repent – then it is they who are unjust. (11)

Believers, avoid being excessively suspicious, for some suspicion is a sin. Do not spy, nor backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would surely detest it. Have fear of Allah. Surely Allah is much prone to accept repentance, is Most Compassionate.(12)
[Al Hujurat 49:11-12]

As said in one of the previous blogs that when ever the verse of Quran starts with "O people who believe", It means that Allah is talking to you and the next part is a commandment if you don't do it you are not of those who have faith (Muslims).

May Allah protect us from becoming one of these people Ameen

O Allah! Enable us to see the Truth as Truth and give us the ability to follow it. And show us the falsehood as false and give us the ability to refrain from it. Ameen
